On March 20th, 2017, the Warner River Nomination Committee made a formal presentation to the NH River’s Management Advisory Committee. The draft minutes of this meeting are available here.
On May 1, 2017, the Warner River Nomination Committee submitted a draft of the Warner River Nomination to Tracie Sales, NHDES RMPP River Coordinator, for review and final comments.
On June 1, 2017, the Warner River Nomination Committee submitted the final revised draft of the Warner River Nomination to the NH River’s Program of the NHDES. Upcoming Events & The Warner River Nomination Timeline
We will be following the traditional calendar for submission of a River Nomination as follows:
June 1, 2017 – The Warner River Nomination Committee submitted the Warner River Nomination to the NHDES Commissioner for review.Thursday, July 11th, 2017, 2pm – 4:15pm – The Warner Nomination Committee will provide a tour of the proposed Warner River Designated Corridor to the NHDES’s Rivers Program and the NH River’s Management Advisory Committee.
Thursday, July 11th, 2017, 6:30pm – 8:30pm – The NH River’s Program and the NH River’s Management Advisory Committee will host a formal public hearing at the Warner Town Hall to accept public comments on the nomination of the Warner River into the NH Rivers Management and Protection Program. The application is available for review on the NHDES website at https://www.des.nh.gov/organization/
Comments may also be submitted in writing. All written comments must be submitted by July 31, 2017 to the N.H. Department of Environmental Services, PO Box 95, Concord, NH 03302-0095; Attn: Rivers Coordinator or to RiversProgram@des.nh.gov.

Following the public hearing, the NHDES Rivers Coordinator and the Rivers Management Advisory Committee will make their respective recommendations to the NHDES Commissioner by October 2017. The Commissioner will review the nomination and make a determination whether to forward the nomination to the General Court for legislative approval by November 2017.
Late October/Early November, 2017 – The NHDES Commissioner either approves or disapproves the Nomination. If approved, the Nomination and supporting documentation are sent to the General Court and a draft legislative bill is written for the Nomination and scheduled into the 2018 Legislature’s calendar.
January/February, 2018 – The legislature entertains a formal presentation by the group proposing the Nomination and listens to public feedback, then either approves or disapproves the bill. If the bill is approved and passes both legislative houses, the bill is forwarded to the Governor for signature and upon signing, RSA 483 is amended to include the Warner River within NH’s RMPP.
